Game 2017.4: Red Sox at Tigers

That was quite a wild ride in yesterday’s home opener, from the depths of blowpen despair to the heights of elation with the comeback bottom of the order rally, to a nail-biting Todd Jones/Papa Grande deja vu ninth inning.

Miguel Cabrera and Jose Iglesias both continue to be 0-for-2017.

Today’s Lineup:

  1. Ian Kinsler, 2B
  2. Nick Castellanos, 3B
  3. Miguel Cabrera, 1B
  4. Victor Martinez, DH
  5. Justin Upton, LF
  6. Mike Mahtook, RF
  7. James McCann, C
  8. JaCoby Jones, CF
  9. Jose Iglesias, SS

Jordan Zimmermann, P

  1. I hate it when Miggy isn’t locked in. He’s hacking at everything thrown up there, instead of waiting for a good pitch…
And VMart looks like whatever ailed him the entire 2016 seems to have passed…

  2. I wonder if Miggy’s back is giving him problems? Meanwhile, good to see a solid Zimmermann.

  3. Are they just being careful with Zimm? He certainly looked like he could go another inning.

  4. Miggy has to be hurting.. His speed of swing is like he’s playing T-ball… Looks like he is whinching on the swing also… Not good

    1. I tend to agree, but if true, somebody on the team needs to be fired for not benching and/or DLing him and getting him medical help. It’s early in the season and I would hate to see Miggy go through what V-Mart did.
