Game 2016.7: Tigers at Pirates

Today the Tigers hop on the train to Pittsburgh, to finish off that annual MLB-manufactured-rivalry home-and-home thing with the Pirates. By the end of this series the Tigers will have started the season with 67% of their games as Interleague games, and 44% of them playing without the DH.

Today’s Interleagueal Lineup:

  1. Kinsler, 2B
  2. Upton, LF
  3. Cabrera, 1B
  4. JD Martinez, LF
  5. Castellanos, 3B
  6. Saltalamacchia,  C
  7. Iglesias, SS
  8. Gose, CF
  9. Greene, P

Shane Greene has never had a hit or a sacrifice in his career. No matter, Gates Martinez is on the bench for late-inning heroics.

  1. I always liked Holiday..but I am warming to Salty…and fast. And no I can’t spell his name. I can hardly pronounce it!

  2. The funny thing about this game is Neurt the plate umpire lines up more inside then most umpires …then he misses more inside pitches than anyone. He was brutal on the inside, both teams…. and it started with the punch out on Kinsler on a pitch 6 inches inside

  3. Here’s one for Kevin in Dallas: Went shopping the other day, needed some deodorant, so grabbed the 2 for 1 deal. The missus was helping me put the stuff away. She looks at what I bought, and says isn’t this the brand that sponsors Heidi’s show? Tried to play dumb, but I was soooo busted.

Salty so far. Keep up the good work Salty. No Chris Shelton, but pretty darn good for league minimum. Thanks Florida Marlins.
