Interesting analysis of Clete.
From watching him, I’ve been impressed that he’s handled the ball both in and out and hasn’t tried to do too much (early power can kill: Shelton, Clevlan), but this is likely because he’s long since realized he’s not a power hitter.
It will be interesting to see if or how he manages to stay consistent – yesterday was ugly, for example (0-4, 4K’s). Obviously, no one expects him to hit .300+ (much less .400+) for a season, but with his nice defensive skills, he certainly could be a more attractive platoon-mate for Thames than Mr. Jones appears to be (he looks like the rookie hitter at the moment), particularly if he can start to draw a few walks.
