Erie only mustered 3 hits so there isn’t much to say about the offense. Virgil Vazquez was knocked out after 3 innings after giving up all 4 runs. Eulogio De La Cruz pitched 3 innings without a runner reaching base.

Clete Thomas doubled twice, singled, and walked. Jeff Frazier homered and singled. Jeff Larish and Brent Dlugach added doubles. Jair Jurrgens had another strong start with 7 innings and no earned runs (2 unearned runs allowed). PJ Finigan picked up the win by throwing 3 2/3 innings and only allowing a HBP.
