  1. My Tiger is Dave Dombrowski.

My wife’s is “PlaPo” (her term of endearment for Placido Polanco)

by Ed on Feb 4, 2007 at 8:24 pm

  2. Mine’s gotta be Curtis Granderson as well, but JB is a close second.

by Kurt on Feb 4, 2007 at 9:12 pm

  3. Bonderman would be number 1. Granderson and Zumaya a close 2/3.

by Rob on Feb 4, 2007 at 9:16 pm

  4. Iiiiiiinge!

by JML on Feb 4, 2007 at 10:03 pm

  5. Oh, no doubt about Inge

by Adam on Feb 4, 2007 at 10:13 pm

  6. Inge then Guillen and Maroth, I can’t choose 1.

On a side note, a former player who stunk for us is rumored (take from it what you will) to be receiving offers from at least three MLB teams, one being us. The player, Juan Gonzalez. The only help he gave our team was a rival for higgi.

  7. Zumaya is my Tiger, followed by Bonderman.

by Jeff K. on Feb 4, 2007 at 10:45 pm

  8. Justin Verlander. My dad and I saw his debut in Cleveland in ’05 and I saw him pitch in the WS in ’06. I just love to watch him.

  9. Bonderman

by Tim D on Feb 4, 2007 at 11:46 pm

  10. Bondo no doubt.

    Go Tigers!

by Jake on Feb 5, 2007 at 12:49 am

  11. Morosi says the Tigers have no interest in Juan Gone.

I think in the minor league system it would be a low-cost, low-risk move but I doubt he cares to go that way.

by Kurt on Feb 5, 2007 at 1:26 am

  12. BONDERMAN!!!! Followed by a close second, Granderson

by Jojo SunDevil on Feb 5, 2007 at 2:46 am

  13. bonderman

by ginn on Feb 5, 2007 at 7:02 am

  14. Brandon Inge, but Nate Robertson is slowly moving up.

by Brian on Feb 5, 2007 at 9:20 am

    Walt

by Walt on Feb 5, 2007 at 9:42 am

  16. Granderson is definitely my Tiger!

My wife’s Tiger/Mud Hen is Chris Shelton

by tbsgc on Feb 5, 2007 at 9:42 am

  17. Gotta stick with Inge. Second place to Maroth. I guess I’m a softie for the guys still around from the 119-loss season.

by Kyle J on Feb 5, 2007 at 10:16 am

  18. If for no other reason than he hasn’t been named yet, my Tiger is … … Carlos Guillen.

by Greg on Feb 5, 2007 at 10:41 am

  19. Inge for me,

Pugde for my nine year old.

My wife likes Maggs because he’s handsome (compared to me most men are)

by Steve "Just say no to Direct TV" on Feb 5, 2007 at 11:05 am

  20. Definitely, Carlos Guillen.

by Nate on Feb 5, 2007 at 12:03 pm

  21. Top three for me, all of whom are separated by mere thousandths of a point, are: 1) Guillen; 2) Bonderman; and 3) Robertson.

by Riley on Feb 5, 2007 at 12:13 pm

  22. I’m a big Craig Monroe fan…….and Carlos Guillen….and Zum Zum…….but gun to my head, pick one, I’d say Zumaya. Love watching that guy do his thing.

by Chris in Nashville on Feb 5, 2007 at 12:18 pm

  23. A year ago, I never thought I’d say this:

    CRAIG MONROE!

The guy is clutch, goes hard every play, and knows who he is….and picking a pitcher from our stable is like choosing between War Admirla, Secretariat, Seabiscuit, Seattle Slew, Barbaro, etc. — you get my point.

    C’ MO’.

by Chris Y. on Feb 5, 2007 at 12:34 pm

  25. Polanco, Maroth, and Jones

by Pat on Feb 5, 2007 at 12:38 pm

  26. Placido Polanco. I love a gamer.

by Phil on Feb 5, 2007 at 1:39 pm

  27. Gotta go with Polanco followed by C’Mo.

by Joey C. on Feb 5, 2007 at 1:42 pm

  28. Joey C,,,, Well you are alive. Dan called looking for you. jk. Glad to see your still around.

    Steve

  29. The Gambler. His performance, which I was very lucky to see live, against the Yankees and Randy Johnson in Game #3 was the best performance I have seen by a Tiger since Trammell in ’84. Rogers followed up that performance with an additional 15+ (!) innings of shutout playoff and World Series pitching. Not to mention his tutoring of our young arms, his celebrating with the fans, and Opening the year with a GEM against KC. KR, you set this city on fire! Thanks for ’06. Tiger number 2, how has he not been mentioned yet, Jim Leyland!

by EZ on Feb 5, 2007 at 3:18 pm

  30. A tie between Vance Wilson and Joel Zumaya.

by ivantopumpyouup on Feb 5, 2007 at 4:43 pm

  31. ‘Nother vote for the man with a flashy glove and a cannon arm. Everyone’s favorite 3B, Brandon Inge….sans beard-like thingy.

by Nate A on Feb 5, 2007 at 5:09 pm

  32. No one likes Pudge anymore, eh?

    I’m a Granderson man myself.

by Sideshow Cecil on Feb 5, 2007 at 5:14 pm

  33. 1) Bondo — 18-20 wins, 200+ IPs, 200+ Ks
    2) Shef — 30+ hr, 120+ RBI’s
    3) Zoom — Just plain Nasty

by Teymour on Feb 5, 2007 at 5:23 pm

  34. Kenny Rogers/Mike Maroth

by Dave Wagner on Feb 5, 2007 at 8:09 pm

  35. Carlos Guillen. I got a thing for short-stops.

by Jordan on Feb 5, 2007 at 8:54 pm

  36. Craig Monroe. I’ve had to defend this guy for at least two years now to Tiger fans. When are they gonna be convinced?

by Worm on Feb 6, 2007 at 12:19 am

  37. My Tiger is Wilfredo Ledezma.

My positional Tiger is Curtis Granderson. As his season goes, so goes the team. Granderson, you best be ready to hit this year.

by Mike G on Feb 6, 2007 at 11:03 am

  38. Craig “see the ball go” Monroe. I just made that up, but I kind of like it. I have this gut feeling it won’t catch on.

by Ken from Cinci on Feb 6, 2007 at 1:42 pm

  39. Carlos Guillen

by Cameron in Singapore on Feb 7, 2007 at 7:25 am

  40. #15 Brandon Inge

by Joey the K on Feb 7, 2007 at 2:44 pm

  41. Granderson as well! I’m sponsoring his baseball reference page this year, too!!!

by Paul on Feb 7, 2007 at 3:27 pm

  42. Where’s the love for Magglio Ordonez. After everything we have to thank him for last season and one person likes him because he is handsome?!? Magglio Ordonez is most definitely my future husband, he just doesn’t know it yet. He will, however, find out Monday April 2nd. I love him.. I need for everyone to know

by Emily Buchanan on Feb 10, 2007 at 12:35 am

  43. Jim Leyland….at the 2006 Tiger fest when asked about the previous Tiger teams and their inability to take walks and move runners over he said, “that’s horsesh*t baseball, and IT WILL NOT be tolerated” then, when he was asked if players can’t or won’t bunt he simply said, “If I say bunt, they’ll bunt…next question.”

I’ll never forget that, and the fact that my favorite Tiger player changed every week.

my 13yr old said pudge and my 5yr old said Guillen (because he wore #9 in tee ball and Pudge (because he wants to be a catcher)

by Andy in WB on Feb 10, 2007 at 12:52 am

  44. My positional tiger is Pudge. I still say if it weren’t for him comin over and then workin with these young pitchers, we wouldn’t be where are.

He’s startin to hit like Ausmus, but that’s my Tig!

by Jojo SunDevil on Feb 11, 2007 at 4:28 am

  45. Late to the party, but…

    Granderson
    Inge
    Zumaya
    Bondo
    Carlos

by Walewander on Feb 11, 2007 at 10:00 pm

  46. “No one likes Pudge any more?”

I do! He’s my Tiger and until my six month old son turns “of age” (whenever he learns to speak and can annunicate another choice), I declare him to be his Tiger as well.

by adr on Feb 12, 2007 at 2:48 pm

  47. who’s my tiger? i’ll stick with the battery…

pitcher: zumaya. there’s something that’s so primal about throwing 100+ mph gas. i love how leyland (sort of) uses him according to the bill james “relief ace” role.

position player: rodriguez. he’s like shaq in the sense that every team he goes to gets better–and that’s especially remarkable in baseball! should be an easy first-ballot hall of famer.

by Deevud Las Vegas on Mar 25, 2007 at 9:00 pm

  48. Emily, I’m with you…

    Maggs is the man!!!
