The buzz on Candyman was that he was not a great glove at 3B. Can’t believe it on what I’ve seen so far, looks comfortable on all plays. Of course the buzz might have been manufactured only to justify keeping Casty at 3rd.
Maybe the buzz was comparing hi. To Dr Strange glove.
I hope this report will spur the Tigers to a pitching gem today. That’s usually how these things go.

“Young/inexperienced” has been pushed hard for a while now as the reason for all this by mlb.com and Ausmus. I don’t suppose it could be that the Tigers are just terrible at anything even tangentially related to pitching.
The 2017 pitching staff is the worst this century and possibly the worst in franchise history. This I submit to you. Pitching is the hurricane that wiped out the season.
The Tigers were once, believe it or not, 51-57. Since then, not including today’s game, they’ve allowed 6.5 runs per game. Opponents have batted .312, 56 HR in 32 games. The offense, meanwhile, has been its average self (.754 OPS) while managing to score a lot less runs (4.2 per game) even while hitting lots of HR (38 in 32 games).
Michael Fulmer hasn’t won a game since July 15.

I see that the rest of the year we can depend on Ian, Miggy, Casty, and everyday Lettuce being in the lineup. So much for looking at the kids but it sets up rehiring Brad to continue working with the younger kids next year. Justification will be that since he’s younger he’ll be able to work with them better. I really hope the Illitch family sells the Tigers.
No one is gonna pay those $7-8 ticket prices just to see a bunch of scrubs with better batting averages, Tony.

I see that Anibal will be back at it tomorrow. I was hoping he would get some extra rest after what was, for me, his best start of the season. I hope he is able to go just as deep into the game against the Blue Jays.
