It’s sad to see them walk J-Up to pitch to Miggy.
And it worked like a charm.
This Fulmer guy might just be not too bad.
Takes a load off my mind, I was a little worried during his last outing after 10 days n the DL.
Uh oh, Nick’s got the clown shoes on.
Now all the defenders of Brad, tell me why wasn’t Iggy the lone fielder on the shift?
Not to defend anyone, but if you expect the ball to be hit to one side, you put the the better defender there, not the crap guy just to add a warm body. It’s not a goal line stand.
Crappy Casty has likely cost us the game.
Nick’s ging to look great in the outfield. Possibly another Moya.
An outfielder who can’t catch fly balls, what could go wrong?
I want to give Nick the benefit of every doubt, but putting him in either corner of the outfield… I just don’t see it. He has a hard enough time – it seems – maintaining focus at a busier defensive position. First base would seem to be the position of least harm, and yet I don’t even see that working. Castellanos is basically a DH who has yet to get it all together at the plate. He may yet have the kind of revelation that happened with JD at 27, who knows. Is Detroit going to wait on that or cash him in for pitching? He came up with the Tigers, he’s got a great attitude, and I’m not so anxious to give up on a guy like that, but… but… but….
Other than letting the run in, the bad thing about Casty botching that pop-up is that it resulting in Alex Wilson pitching the 8th instead of Fulmer going back out.
The reality is that even if Fulmer pitches 9 zeros, we still lose because we couldn’t score. We stranded a total of 9 and were 0 for 4 RISP Victor 0-2 Miggy and J-Up 0-1.
Go Lions !!!! Hopefully the Sept. call ups will be a diversion for us.
Agree wouldn’t you want your best defender covering the single side of the shift…
Brad thought it would be good to practice on a fly ball before he plays right field.

Article titled “The Blueprint” is a good read on how the LA Dodgers were transformed. Of course, we must remember that the playoff system allows for lesser teams to win it all. Remember the 2001 Mariners won 116 games and lost in 5 games to the Yanks in the ALCS.
It wouldn’t hurt for Tiger’s management to implement some of the things the Dodgers did to change their culture. I love the part about changing the lineup around every game if needed to maximize what the players are CURRENTLY doing.
