Game 2016.92: Royals at Tigers

We got Pelfreyed yesterday; just one of those games.

Ace-in-Waiting Mike Fulmer takes the mound in the rubber game of the series, facing the Human Suspension. Justin Upton returns, which earns Meandering Moya a trip back to Toledo, and is my pick for first player plunked by a Ventura pitch.

Today’s Ventura Highway Lineup:

  1. Kinsler, 2B
  2. Maybin, CF
  3. Cabrera, 1B
  4. V Martinez, DH
  5. Castellanos, 3B
  6. Upton, LF
  7. Collins, RF
  8. Saltalamacchia, C
  9. Iglesias, SS

Fingers has got to be better in right than Moya and he could run into one occasionally. What it shows is just how thin we are in players. Also glad to see Salty start. McCann is a great catcher but has looked awful at the plate. What does Wally do? I would still try Miggy behind J-Up until he wakes up.

Remember when: With the 2nd baseman going to cover the bag, Miggy would just cue the ball into the hole?

Cabrera fails again with a guy on third and one out…the middle of the order has been useless lately.

Kinsler and Maybin continue to get on base, Miggy and Victor continue to leave them there, and Casty has a double and triple but no runs batted in.

Is it time to consider moving Castellanos up to the 3 spot?

Fulmer gives up only one hit to the Royals in their third time seeing him. That is pitching…let’s win this one for him!

I’m disappointed that Maybin swung at a 2-0 pitch, should have tried to work a walk.

Another double for Castellanos…still no RBI.

Whatever we say about Fulmer is not enough.

I guess everyone forgot Soria was part of the Tiger pen last year. Salty may not hit a lot, like our Big Guns, but he sure has some big hits this year.

The Tigers are nothing better than a.500 club. It’s time to cut the payroll and start from scratch
They won’t smell the postseason and we shouldn’t be paying for this group of underachievers.
