To continue last night’s whining discussion, how can you lose a game when you didn’t give up any hits until 5 1/3 innings? Then the next 3 2/3 innings you give up 5 runs? Meanwhile on the offense side, you have ten shots with runners in scoring positions and you only score on three batters in which those batters also contributed to three outs? This is not entirely a pitcher or batter issue as the manager needs to weigh in to protect and increase the lead. We didn’t see that last night…maybe tonight?

Hey guys, except for resting Casty, that is pretty much the lineup I posted last night. Hope we don’t get shut out.

LHP Ryan was optioned to Toledo… Lefties were batting .364 against Ryan this season with a 1.025 OPS.

    let’s hope there’s a few more bullpen/roster moves

…though, bringing back Hardy is not my idea of ‘improvement’

Fear not, if we need a couple of innings we have Sanchez in the pen now.

I loved the Avila slow walk to the visitors dugout. De-ja-vue..took the same 30 seconds it takes him to slow walk to the home team dugout following a K!!!

Always good to see another old “friend” of the blog, doing what he do….

the Sale vs Pelfrey matchup does not elicit a whole lot of confidence for the home team, but let’s hope the pressure of having Greene back and Boyd as possible replacements for Pelfrey in the rotation provokes an exceptional performance out of Mr Pelfrey today.

Would love to see VMart go yard on Sale again in light of that nonsense a few years ago where Sale thought VMart had someone stealing signs for VMart in the CF bleachers… crazy

Other than Sale’s one bad game against CLE, he’s been virtually unhittable… looking at his splits are intimidating: in ’16 he’s got a 1.59 ERA on the road, he gets stronger with every inning (the BAA is .158 in pitches 61-75)… and about the ‘weakness’ in his stats are when hitters have a 1-0 or 1-1 count – other than those two pitch-counts, he’s mowing down hitters – and especially if he’s ahead in the count and has 2 strikes on a hitter (BAA around .100)
