Ah yes, the Boston Red Sox. Remember when the season started with a 3-game sweep of the Red Sox in Detroit? The Tigers scored 26 runs in 3-games, they pulled off a clutch 11-inning victory for the sweep, and Duane Below managed to rack up 2 of the 3 wins. The Tigers had a legendary offense that was going to just crush the opposition, and cruise to an easy Central title. Oh well.
Boston had problems of its own, but seems to have righted the ship somewhat, and both teams go into this series with identical records. Austin Jackson again will miss this series with his abdominal strain, so Detroit is hoping the Q-Berry magic continues.

Smokey has got to go and the sooner the better. Why move Dirksy to the 7 hole and move KBum up to the 2 hole. They had a great 1-2 setting the table for Miggy and Prince and Smokey’s crystal ball tells him to change a winning setup?
Why would you bat Dirks 7th??? Why why why? I hope Raburn comes through but we all know what is probably going to happen…
I thought I read elsewhere that the Dirks/Raburn switch had to do with Doubront being tough on lefties. But then I checked the stats and don’t see it. So …. ????

Lamont, not to be left out of the Tigers’ coaching ejection list, gets tossed to start the top 3rd, then Leyland gets his second in <a week.
Addition by subtraction. Lamont is deprived of chances to get runners thrown out and Leyland gets to watch the game on the tv monitor where maybe he will learn somehting.

MLB Umpire chief should hold a weekly we blew it like the NFL does.
Tigers should flip all of the homke/visitors clubhouse calendars to August, so that K-burn thinks that it time to start hitting.

This could turn into a game where we see Don Kelly in the BP.
Luckily Leyland did not slot Kelly in as DH, because he’d be ineligible to pitch then.
If the weather is nice where you are, you may consider taking a hike, playing catch with the kids, reading a book, etc.

I think batting Raburn 2nd was just a simple misunderstanding. Dombrowski told Leyland that Raburn would be a good “table setter,” and Leyland didn’t understand that he meant he should spend the game setting up the post-game clubhouse buffet.

I continue to be dumbfounded at the continued use of Raburn–especially in the 2 hole!
I am hoping to go 4-3 in the next 7, so, i am not to worried about one game in Boston. Tommorow becomes a huge game, IMO. Raburn has 3 strikeouts and although, it appears no one is having a great day at the plate…batting him 2nd is ridiculously stupid..if you wanted to give dirks the day off, then I would understand, but, they were facing a lefty, who actually handles RHers better and Boesch has been heating up and Dirks is one of our better players. Under what circumstance would you ever bat Raburn 2nd? I guess we wanted a sure out in front of Cabrera and Fielder. What is the love affair w/ Raburn?
lets take our hottest hitter and pencil him in the 7 spot. Now lets take the worst hitter in all of baseball and pencil him in the 2 spot..hmmmmm.at least it can be said no one will ever wonder how Smokey could possibly lose 1600 games
