This is turning out to be a strange, if not strangely exciting end to the season, as the Tigers finish out, once again, with an interleague series on the road (Detroit finished 2013 at the Marlins). That means, oh boy! the pitchers get to bat, which I guess is one advantage to having long-time NL’er Zimmermann in the rotation. Norris is no slouch though, he hit a 2-run HR last season.
The team formerly known as The Worst Team in Baseball seems to have found themselves, and is actually the hottest team in baseball–the Braves have won 10 of the last 11.
Game time for the makeup game with Cleveland is set for 1:10 Monday, if necessary, which it likely will be if Detroit takes 2-of-3. One scenario no one has mentioned: if the Tigers are eliminated from the wild card, but Cleveland is within a game of anyone for playoff seeding, the makeup game will be necessary. And quite a drag.

As i Coleman pointed out, Norris did crush a HR (in his first AB for DET) over the CF fence …and i believe it was off Lester (Cubs). DET must sweep ATL…which is a tall order based on the way they’ve played in the past 2 wks

This series as absolutely nothing to do with Baltimore or Toronto……..Tigers have to do this ALL by themselves……tough task!
Maybe the Tigers can even get up to .500 for the month of Sept….the big month in baseball!

I am listening to the Brave announcers on Direct cTV…you would think its a Tiger set of announcers while listening to them. I am sure with the Braves year , not much to talk about. But these guys are good…..
I did get a good chuckle though when they mention the Tigers just jog while running the bases. They stated the Tigers prolly saving themselves and don’t want to get anyone hurt….obviously they don’t see the Tigers run bases very often….haha!
I was driving out to Lake Powell, UT while listening to the Braves announcers. They aren’t to exciting…sort of like announcing paint drying. Lots of permutations to the end of this season while the Tigers simplyb need to win.
