Can not depend on others to win for us. Max pitched 7 mostly no hit inning but gave up 2 runs. Bauer didn’t pitch 6+ no hit inning but kept the Nats scoreless. When he gave up a one out double in the bottom of the seventh Francona brought in A. Miller who shut the rally down. He hasn’t learned from Brad about what innings you must use your closer in. I hope the Nats can come back to win it but I admire how Francona manages.

Maybin to the DL w/a Grade 2 thumb sprain
DET has played just 25 games this year w/whole roster healthy
I’m with some others here…4 days to figure out he has a Grade 2 sprain? It’s possible there is a training/medical clown show going on behind the scenes. Or not; but since it’s behind the scenes, one is left to speculate from the results.
McGhee can play the game of Baseball..good help so far..keep it up!
Does the rotating announcers drive anyone else nuts? I really like both Dan and Mario in their respective regular roles, but this rotating thing is unstable.
Dan is my favorite as announcer, Mario is acceptable except when paired with Gibby who never shuts up and drives me nuts. My favorite for color announcer is Jack Morris.
By the way, the constant chatter with guys in the camera well, stands and men’s room drives me crazy. I thought the idea behind TV was so we could see what was happening and not need constant chatter.

it certainly seems to be that time of year for the DL parade, but every team has had to deal with injuries
The next 11 games will likely ‘make’ or ‘break’ DET’s run for the AL Central: 1 @SEA, 3 @TEX, 3 KC, 4 BOS
…all against good teams w/tough pitching matchups
the ‘wild card’ option could remain viable until that last week of the season, but that ‘1 and done matchup’ does not bode will for DET – a team that has trouble manufacturing runs against good pitching

At the plate, it could be ‘6 of one, half dozen of another’ comparison between Romine & Aviles, but in the field, Romine is clearly the better choice for SS…maybe he’s injured too?

Sorry… Avilies at SS makes no sense what so ever…day off tomorrow, had a day off last thursday…I bet Avilies has played 2 games at SS in 5 years!..If lettuce is hurt we are playing with 22..hey Al you listening?..or Brad is this a give away game. Ask JV what he thinks about Aviles at SS!!!
