Game 2016.88: Tigers at Blue Jays

Even after my reminder yesterday I forgot about the early start. Let’s get to the break on a winning streak.

Bases loaded, no outs above average results for the Tigers, 1 run! Love that aggressive base running by our 3rd base coach.

The Tigers are so frickin slow they make every team a highlight reel throwing them out at first or anywhere else actually!

Brad..you have the worst base running team in all of baseball. Brad..” I know”…”were going to work on that in spring training”…..OH!!!!!

and fortunately a ex-Tiger relief pitcher gives up the dinger to Victor…once you pitch in the Tiger pen…it stays with you…haha!

    In July:
    Kinsler…..240…3rbi..7 rund
    Maybin….. .290…4rbi…7runs
    Miggy….. .200…2rbi….4 runs
    Victor… .200…9rbi…6runs
    Upton…. .240…4rbi…3runs

    Casty….360….9rbi….5runs
These stats make this a great road trip. And shows you pitching isn’t the number one problem…6 wins on this trip…great trip…

Nice spot-start for Boyd, w/Zimmerman and Norris on DL, he’s going to have to step into the rotation…and i’ll take 5 IN of 1 run ball every time.

…also nice to see VMart break out of his slump vs Grilli…and Jud suggested, some of the DET blowpen residue is something Grilli can’t shake

I am watching the Indians Yankees game and am amused by both managers. They have both used their closers without having the lead, unheard of! The game is going to the 10th, go Yanks.

Beltran singles with 2 outs in the 11th. Joe Girardi promptly puts in a pinch runner who scores on McCann’s double. No way Beltran would have scored. Chapman (closer) comes out for the 11th having already pitched an inning and a third. Kipnis walked and (in Tiger fashion) got picked off after one out. Napoli strikes out and it’s over. I was really impressed with how the managers worked their players.

Brad wouldn’t have done any of that…His computer doesn’t work like that….

Good article about The Tigers being 28th in baserunning ( how can 2 teams possibly be worse)..Brads answer to the awful baserunning, especially this weekend….”I don’t think its a problem, were human”..was his answer!…thanks Brad!

92 pitches through 4 innings, 5 R, 8 H…a fairly typical Sanchez outting…can’t believe they keep running him out there…i understand Zim & Norris are DL’d, but one would think there’s a better option in AAA or AA

the only reason Sanchez is still on the roster is because DET owes him $17M for next year and half of that for remainder of this year – and they can’t trade him (no takers)…and DET wants to try and salvage some return on their investment
