Sorry for the late post all. Good way to start though.

Can someone update me on the AlAl injury?
Coleman
Bad news: during pre-game batting practice Al Aburquerque was hit in the head with a line drive and had to be carried off the field.

Tigerball: BB, single, single, single, DP = 1 run.

Maggs still looking for the elusive 1st extrabase hit this month (2 in 84 AB since the AS break).

Tigers are really struggling for big hits. This team would have chased Simon off the mound back in June. Now they can’t do anything against mediocre pitching
Coleman
It just turned June.
Vince in MN
Not so much.
Chris
It went to June until Magglio came to bat. Then things reverted to August.

Birds are showing how scoring is done to our pathetic offense

Cle with two in the bottom of the 8th to take a 3-2 lead over Minny.
How much longer will Maggs stay in the 3 hole? I’d like to see:
– Betemit or Peralta
– Dirks
– Boesch
for our 1/2/3. Giving Jackson an extra AB every game is silly when you have .300 hitters at the bottom of the order.
Coleman
Maggs would be doing worse in any other spot in the lineup, without the threat of Cabrera behind him. (Oh, and nice R3L2O Fail there).

I’d consider letting Jackson lead off against lefties, but agree vs RH. Ordonez needs to get dropped in the order and platooned. Guillen should probably be replaced (with Rhymes?). Betemit doesn’t hit LH very well, Ks too much and probably should be platooned as well; definitely not a leadoff hitter. The lineup I’d like to see 1. Jackson/Dirks 2. Boesch 3. Cabrera 4. Martinez 5. Peralta 6. Avila and for 7,8,9 whatever (w Jacskon 9th vs RH).
Vince in MN
CLE beats useless Twins, 3-2. Cy Chen beating WS though 2-0 in 7th.
Coleman
Best Valverde dance in many weeks…somebody really wanted this one

A fortunate win and the bullpen came through (only 1 walk and1 hit in 3.2 innings).
