Game 2017.156: Twins at Tigers

Here we go, last time the fans at Comerica get to see Brad Ausmus, and maybe a few more if these guys. I know I could do without some of these bullpen guys, who blew another nice outing by Mr. Boyd.

Today’s Lineup:

  1. Ian Kinsler 2B
  2. Alex Presley RF
  3. Nick Castellanos 3B
  4. Efren Navarro 1B
  5. James McCann C
  6. Dixon Machado 2B
  7. Andrew Romine LF
  8. JaCoby Jones CF
  9. Jose Iglesias SS

Pitching: Buck Farmer vs Jose Berrios

Andrew Romine will be playing at least one position today. Castellanos at third. Hmm.

  1. With Brad leaving I am not cheering for loss 100 any more….. Time to turn things around… This play like “your 70 years old” and you are in your 20’s and 30’s has to end….

  2. Tigers lose to the Twins…I’m OK w/that since they’re in the playoff hunt, but then the Lions lose to the officials, or more specifically the ‘replay official’… the absolute worst ‘official review’ call I’ve seen in a while – and there’s been a lot of them

…calls/game endings like that will only provide more ammunition for Lions fans that feel the league is conspiring against them

  3. Norman: Looks like you and I will be rooting or the Twinkies unless the Yankees overtake the Red Sox (unlikely). We should beat the White Sox for last place but that will probably be as far (or low) as we go.

The Lions always find a new way to lose, although I haven’t watched any NFL games this year and probably won’t. As a veteran I can see no justification for bringing this to the sports areas, especially in support of a second rate QB. Perhaps empty stadiums and lower TV ratings will bring everyone back to reality. If baseball follows along, I’ll miss what promises to be a great playoff/world series.

    1. yes, go twinkies!

ESPN Crasnick reports: General manager Al Avila said the team is looking for “a new approach and a fresh start” with its next managerial hire. The Tigers are in full-fledged rebuilding mode, so it’s likely they’ll be looking for a developmental type as they move on from Ausmus.

I concur, no McClendon – no baggage, a fresh start w/the staff
