Game 2017.150: A’s at Tigers

Matthew Boyd had quite the game, to put it mildly. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Meanwhile, Justin Verlander through three starts with the Astros

  • 21 IP
  • 0.86 ERA
  • 10 H
  • 26 K
  • 3 BB

Houston is getting its money’s worth.

Also, Romine might play all 9 positions this series. He also might not play at all–he is out of the lineup again tonight. This is very mysterious; after a long run of everyday Lettuce, we get none–but get teased with this all 9 position thing. Very odd.

Today’s Lineup:

  1. Ian Kinsler, 2B
  2. Jaimer Candelario 3B
  3. Miguel Cabrera DH
  4. Nick Castellanos RF
  5. Efren Navarro 1B
  6. James McCann C
  7. Mikie Mahtook LF
  8. JaCoby Jones CF
  9. Jose Iglesias SS
  10. Pitching: Buck Farmer vs Jharel Cotton

Miguel Cabrera is back. For some reason.

  1. This would seem to be the game for the condensed version of the Romine Everywhere thing. Tigers are already out of it. Perhaps the idea did not win Bob Melvin’s seal of approval, though. Whatever. I’ve lost interest. I gave Brad the plan and he ignored it. He can put an egg in his shoe and beat it.

  2. At this point, i would have to believe that the Kinsler vesting thing which he and the Tigers appear to be all in for is about 600 plate appearances, not 600 at bats.

  3. Welcome to the WAR Faces, Matt Boyd. What took you so long? Mikie Mahtook has been unceremoniously thrown aside.

  4. Jose Iglesias has more extra base hits than Miggy or Victor. Upton (Tigers only) and Castellanos have more than both combined.

  5. All season I have been incensed at Tiger’s Mismanagement of Miggy’s health. Since he played in the WBC he’s been hurt and all he’s done since is embarrass himself. I know Miggy is probably controlling some of it by refusing to sit when he should but the Tiger GM and field manager are the real culprits.

  6. The inmates run the assylum…..Brad is no more in charge of this team, than I am…thats why Kinsler and Miggy play every inning …Brads afraid to hurt their feelings!…….reason the Brass think he can manage the younsters next year is beacuse he can only manage the younsters. The veterans eat him up every single day…It started with Frankie, and ended with Miggy….
