Game 2017.128: Tigers at White Sox

Nick Castellanos is out until he comes up with a better nickname (Nick?). Also, he has a sore wrist from the Yankee scuffle.

We were wondering why in the world Brad would bring in Jimenez in a crucial spot. Apparently this is going to be a thing. Jason Beck tweets “Joe Jimenez will spend this stretch run pitching in tight situations, learning on the job, according to Brad Ausmus.” OK then.

Today’s Lineup:

  1. Bootsie 2B
  2. Mongli, 3B
  3. J-Up, LF
  4. Miggy 1B
  5. Night Hawk, CF
  6. Papicho, DH
  7. McCannon, C
  8. Robomb, RF
  9. Candelita, SS

Pitching:  George vs Carlos Rodon

  1. He gives Jimenez on the job training yet puts Robomb in RF. I admit I don’t get it.

    1. Neither do I. Romine is versatile and valuable, but he’s a known quantity. If we’re experimenting and evaluating, Jacoby should be out there.

  2. Exactly what I was thinking, Jones in CF, Mikie in RF. We are wasting valuable time in “live fire” situations that can help really evaluate our youngsters.

  3. Maybe the ChiSox were showcasing Pelfrey in case we wanted to shore up our pen.

  4. Kins Miggy.. VMart.. 4/12..a dinger and 1rbi…might be their best game in the month of Aug… Wow…
The big deal was Buck with a win and the Pen shuts the Sux down… Great job!

  5. I am in Chicago.. Not at the game.. But watched part of the Sox broadcast. In the post game wrap..They are absolutely sure the Tigers new the pitches that were being thrown… You read it here!
