Game 2016.150: Tigers vs. Twins

Well, the Indians showed us who’s boss. The Tigers squandered a chance to make-up ground on the Indians and fell further behind in the wild-card race. Any time you have a pitcher give up 1 hit over 7 innings, I would think the chances of winning are pretty high. Incredibly high, to be honest.

2.5 games out with 13 to play is not a good place to be.

No VMart or Kins today. No idea why not.

1. Cameron Maybin, CF
2. Jose Iglesias, SS
3. Miguel Cabrera, 1B
4. J.D. Martinez, RF
5. Justin Upton, LF
6. James McCann, DH
7. JaCoby Jones, 3B
8. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
9. Andrew Romine, 2B

  1. I know you are all waiting for my prediction for the rest of the season. I think Baltimore will get in but they need to at least split with the Red Sox. (0-1. Boston won last night.) If they lose 3 or 4 it makes their job much harder. If the Tigers can go 10-3 in these last 13 games, they should get the 2nd wild card. I’m almost sure they won’t be able to do that. 4 losses will give them an outside chance. 5 or more losses and we can start planning for 2017 a little sooner than we wanted. Need I say how important these games with the Twinkies are?

I can only guess that Ian and Victor are suffering from the shots they took from the Indians pitcher. Hopefully it is not serious.

  2. Miggy one of the few who understand winning. . How bout that making of a run!!!..still an amazing player!

Theres no way Clarke sent him..Clark has been terrible all year!..in fact would there even be one member of the coaching staff that you would say he did a really good job this year…any???

    1. Of course Clark didn’t send him, Miggy ran his stop sign in Cleveland. If he hadn’t we would not have taken the lead. Miggy is not our fastest runner but he is easily our smartest.

  3. To negative. Salty already had a hit.Sorry.Does anyone know why Clark is at 3rd? Who is he related to? The boys don’t need him tonight! Just waving to him on the way by.

  4. OK, we will still win but I would have let Boyd start the 9th. Maybe Lowe can find his way with an easy mop up.

  5. Terrific start for Boyd, Miggy plays small ball and bombs away and Big Papi helps us with the O’s. Life is good tonight.

  6. Boyd did tonight what most left handed pitchers have done TO the Tigers all year….Stay out of the strikezone..go outside..go below..batters will swing…oh batters will swing!
