Game 2016.112: Tigers at Mariners

A couple of hot topics from yesterday’s game.

  1. Clark completely botched the 3rd out in the eighth, but I don’t see J.D. scoring there if he’s running hard. Sure, we lost an at-bat, but I don’t think it was a guaranteed run.
  2. This was the third time this year that F-Rod came out 3 consecutive nights. The first time he was good, the second time he got drilled in the third game (3 hits and 2 BB in 1 IP), last night was no so good. I don’t have a problem with him coming out for the 9th three nights in a row; I do have a problem with him coming out in a non-save situation, though remember that Greene had already been used the previous two nights. You can blame this one on Kyle Ryan. Rondon was a reasonable option as well.

Maybin still out.

  1. Bad news is Gibby is in the Ditect TV booth…win some lose some….I don’t mind a lot of what he says…its just non stop constant!!!

  2. Raise your hand if you knew this would happen ✋. Welcome to the Left Coast where there will be more of this to come, again after tonight…..
    Another wasted great pitched game!
Zero offense effort against Cy I……..

  3. I went to bed after the top of the 6th since it looked like the only one the Tiger’s offense was hurting was Fulmer. Cabrera looked especially out of sync and no one else showed any promise. I’m afraid that without Maybin there doesn’t seem to be much of a spark. If Maybin is not playing tonight, perhaps he should be on the DL. With a lefthander going tonight, I’m willing to bet that Brad goes with Aviles in the lineup, great.

  4. The entire Tigers training and medical staff should be overhauled. Actually it seems that someone should get fired. How many instances of minor to major injuries do we need. How many players have been allowed to come back early only to discover later they weren’t well. It’s happen to V-Mart, Miggy and of course Zimmerman. The latest appears to be Cameron Maybin who now is finally going for an MRI after how many days lost? I don’t understand why these steps aren’t taken immediately. Aren’t MRI’s in the budget? In the past few years how many extra days have been lost due to not treating injuries correctly and/or properly? If I were GM, I’d look into this quickly.

  5. DET ‘really’ needs a good start from Norris and Scherzer tonight…so far Max holding up his end, no hits thru 4 IN, and he just recorded his 200th K of the season, and he probably has 7-8 starts left
