The Krol situation last night and situations like it are interesting. When is it time for the hook for a reliever? It’s a more difficult call. After the two singles? Right after the home run? After allowing the first batter to reach? In this situation, inning, score, and pitcher included, I’m inclined to say that first batter on = hook.
The Research Department might want to look into what has happened when a Tigers reliever has allowed the first batter of an inning to reach in 2014.
