  1. So….how long until Raburn and Inge are gone? These two clowns should be DFA’d. Good bye and good riddance.

I can’t imagine Raburn will keep on getting playing time, will he? Why does he seem to have an endless leash this year?

    1. Leyland says everything Raburn has done up to this point doesn’t count, now that he is the “everyday” 2B, “His season begins [today].”

So, for the season, Raburn has an OPS of .000 and a 75% strike out rate.

    2. We could just bench them and play Don Kelly, Ramon Santiago, and Danny Worth more. Inge and Raburn are signed thru 2012 also, so I doubt they get DFA’d. Reserve roles would fit them better while they are slumping.

  2. At Brenden’s request, here’s Leyland’s Ingeless and Rayless line-up. Enjoy.

    CF AJax
    LF Dirks
    RF Boesch
    1B Cabrera
    DH VMart
    3B Kelly
    C Avila
    SS Santiago
    2B Worth

    1. I’m glad they’re starting to listen to me now, geesh. I guess 0/4 with 3 Ks wasn’t a good start for our “new” starting 2nd baseman.

    1. Inge signed a 2 year deal, so not anytime soon. He might get dealt, but only if the Tigers are willing to eat the vast majority of his salary.

      Raburn is gonna hit.

      1. If Raburn starts to hit, he will play every day. If Raburn plays every day, he will break the franchise single-season K record. (Last I looked he was on pace for 210 this season).

      2. When exactly is Raburn going to start hitting? What do you base that claim on? He has been atrocious at the plate up to today and his fielding stats sub-par.

You sound like Jim Leyland when you say “Raburn is gonna hit”. At this point, he is no better than Scott Sizemore at 2nd base.

        1. If someone could predict when someone is going to hit or pitch, then we wouldn’t even need to play the games. We could just have this Nostrodomus of a person Twitter us the results. Sounds like a job for TSE.

        2. Take a look at his OPS+ for the past two years, and his 2nd half splits. He can hit in the bigs.

  3. Justin proving once again that he is legit Ace.Justin = or > Cabrera and Martinez and > the rest of the team.

      1. All of our starters. Verlander, Scherzer, Porcello, Coke, and Penny.

10 games they’ve had without giving up a run.

        1. Wow. Great stat. What’s everyone doing for the game tomorrow afternoon?

  4. The Tigers actually have some guys now that inspire glove-comfort: Peralta last season gave me glove-anxiety, but not this year; Inge, and his new platoon buddy Kelly; AJax; Dirks!; Cabrera, unless it’s a popup, in which case he’s helpless.

    1. Oh, and Santiago, who is excellent at either SS or 2B. He doesn’t do anything spectacular necessarily, but when the ball goes his way, do you ever doubt he is going to make the play?

  5. Verlander seems to have turned another corner after the no-hitter and his talk with Morris.
