  1. Hopefully the Tigers can get off to a quick start tonite…….and be ahead when and if the rains come.

  2. Flipped on the Indians TV broadcast to hear what they had to say about the Tigers. Ordonez steps up and the color guy says pitch around Cabrera. He quickly caught himself, but he spent all of Ordonez’s AB and the first 4 pitches of Miggy’s describing how he would not give Cabrera anything to hit with 1B open. Huff throws a strike, bomb. Color guy basically said “see, I told you so.”

    1. I don’t know, this guy looks like he might need to pitch around Damon, Inge, and Raburn also…

    2. When the Tigers are in Cleveland, I usually watch the STO broadcast (not that they are great, but…). Isn’t it amazing when the broadcasters actually talk about the game? Now that Ernie has passed, I realize how bad Rod Allen is. Instead of talking about Cabrera’s “Jehri Curl” for 6 innings, talk about what is happening in the game. The Indians announcers actually had something important to say tonight. Rod is really bad.

      1. Well, the Indian’s announcers had plenty of fodder to work with. Dan Dickerson and Jim Price talked about the game…..mostly about how the Tigers can’t survive without better starting pitching.

        1. Dan and Jim are fine, but just fine. Mario is looking for national gig and is too afraid something almost biased towards the Tigers for fear that it might hurt his chances. Rod is too busy trying to coin catch phrases to notice what is happening. Though every once in a while Rod will let something loose like “fried, dyed, and laid to the side,” that he almost makes it worthwhile. But not enough.

          1. Considering the circumstances: mourning Ernie, the pitching, the weather and 3 losses in a row, I’ll give them a pass for tonight.

  3. Another nice inning-ending strikeout…maybe he’ll make a habit of this…

  4. Great hitting display. They need to lay beat-downs on the basement dwellers of this division if they want to keep pace with the Twins. Now hopefully they get the game in before it starts raining in Cleveland.

      1. On the other hand, maybe a bit of rain won’t necessarily be a bad thing…

  5. It’s nice to see us knock an opposition starter out of the game early for a change.

  6. It’s nice to see the bottom third of the line-up getting some hits.

    1. I mean, does this guy have the most errors per innings played this year or what? Blessing in disguise actually: Ray-ray is a nice candidate to bid adieu when Guillen comes back, even if it is putting him on waivers.

      1. I think Raburn has one more option left before the Tigers would have to put him on waivers. So you’re not quite done seeing him yet.

          1. think its possible to actually lead the league in errors and be and outfielder?

            1. And one who plays as sparingly as he does? He has his moments, for sure, but it’s hard to justify keeping him around when you have Kid Boesch smoking bombs–Miggy re: Boesch: he is the kind of player who gets big hits to win ball games.

              1. It’s exciting to see Boesch destroy the ball. I just hope he can continue to develop into a full time player and not a role player/pinch hitter like Thames was.

  7. What a meltdown by Bonderman….and he was going so good.

    1. Yep, a good 1 run 7 inning game from him would have been the ticket, especially against Cleveland

          1. I was thinking Bad Moon Rising or Have You Ever Seen The Rain. Based on the Cleveland radar I just looked at, they might be singing Who’ll Stop The Rain shortly.

      1. Looks like the game was actually called and won’t be made up this weekend. I’m thinking it’ll be played after the All-Star break.
