I wasn't referring to the inking, I was referring to the comment that he got them because he was "bored," which it looks like was, um, spurious, let's say

I'm not backing up Inge, just trying to understand how "low intelligence" (whatever that means), correlates with/or causes one to ink oneself.

As a fan of the guy and the team, I think he should be DLed for maybe 15ish days OR only used sparingly against pitchers he has an insanely good history against.

It is obvious that he is hurting. A broken/badly battered Inge, or anyone for that matter is better off healing and coming back strong vs. playing in severe pain.

Even gold glove D (which hasn't looked quite as great lately)/"some clutchiness" won't rescue/offset the horrid production at the plate he has had.

They need to think both short term(making it in) and long term (ie playoffs). Although he is only 32 you've got to try and get him somewhat healthy again.

I'm not a MD, but can imagine that taking the everyday stress off his knees could only help his body heal itself.

After some preliminary research into the Inge tattoos, this is still the best word I can come up with: absurd.

But hey, nobody ever claimed the guy was a genius...the Glove cannot be worn by the Mind, as the good Admiral used to say...

Thanks, RPS. I didn't realize that the division was tied as recently as 7/23. How quickly my memory fades. We just have to keep on battling. Every win from here on out makes it just a little bit harder for the teams trailing us.

Hey, Inge is batting .540 with bases loaded, so let's load them up. And at least he isn't doing the check-swing strikeout as much.

I'm amazed that our division lead (in terms of games ahead of 2nd place) has had so little fluctuation for so long. Can any of the stat heads tell me when the last time our lead was not between 1.5 games and 3.5 games? Or maybe 2 and 4 is the better spread for this thought. It's just fascinating that no team has gone on a lasting run, in either direction, that would cause some seperation or shift in standings or whatever.

You're right Mr X, he did carry the offense in April. So that means Inge carried the Tigers for one month and the Tigers have carried Inge for the other 60 months of his career. Not the greatest ratio.

Inge practically carried our offense in April and May. We probably wouldn't be in 1st place if not for him. He's one of the few guys who does great things for the team, the fans, and the for the good of the game. I think it's unfair to trash him just because he has a lower than average batting average. His accomplishments this season are well documented and they are well deserved for all the hard work he's put in.

LOL! Loved the post from "Rogo" on the link:
"He should have got them on the small of his back. That way, he and the majority of his fans would have something in common."

But seriously, these sentiments are nothing new. He's still a liability at the plate and an occasional airhead, for all his flashy glovework.

Sorry, my angst got me a little away from the facts. He hit .236 the year before they asked him to be a catcher again. My mistake.
