Jamie Samuelsen

Jamie Samuelsen, long time WDFN’r and more recently blogger for the Freep, starts his new gig on Monday.  He’ll be joining the morning show on WRIF.  Jamie has been a great supporter of this blog with numerous mentions on his former morning show on WDFN.  Plus he’s one of the most reasonable voices in sports talk.  So if you’re not already a WRIF listener, tune in Monday when Jamie makes his debut.  You can listen in online.

Kurt Mensching

You may know Kurt from his occasional comments here, or probably for his work at Mack Avenue Tigers. You may not know he’s a sports columnist for the Marquette Mining Journal. Via BYB we find out that Kurt has been named top sports columnist in the state for his paper’s class. Super congrats to Kurt.

Way to go, Kurt!

Thanks, guys!

I should really get back to doing more of the blogging thing though, hey?

Yeah, you should. I could probably win an award for doing my real job, too, if I didn’t spend all my time working on my blog. :)

How in the world is Jamie Samuelsen going to fit in with the juvenile Mike W. Clark? That just seems like a bad idea, unless they’re going for some sort of odd couple routine. I guess they needed some sort of professional radio person to take up for Drew, though.

That Kurt fellow ain’t no Lee Panas! ;-)

Well done, Kurt.

Congratulations, Kurt. Marquette Mining Journal, eh (hey)? Don’t tell anyone, but not only do I know where Marquette is, I’ve even been there.

7 Kurt 10.06.08 at 12:10 pm

Well played on the “hey” but don’t let too many trolls know about that one. Or where Marquette is!

I promise not to tell anyone who can’t tell me what a pastie is. In fact, I’ll make them bring me one first. Yes, I’m hungry now.

I’ve also been to Marquette, on the way back from Isle Royal. My friend promised to pay me back for dinner there, but she never did. That forty dollars is on you, city of Marquette!

Driving to Copper Harbor in your car from Royal Rent-A-Car sporting Uniroyal tires while swigging Royal coffee from your royal purple travel mug. You thought this remote island was the Grey Havens of former Royals and that you’d get to meet George Brett, Bret Saberhagen, and Hal McRae… didn’t you? And that “she” you mention was undoubtedly Zach Greinke. You’re fooling no one. :)

Good response to that Rays fan a week or so (or a hundred years) ago. That was funny.

OK, Zack Greinke. So I’m a total fraud. Sue me.

12 Dave BW 10.06.08 at 4:29 pm

I wish! Greinke would totally have paid me back that money.

13 Kurt 10.06.08 at 5:56 pm

You eat like a king on $40 bucks in Marquette, at least! But I’m sure Zack Greinke will pay you back eventually.
