Game 135: Royals at Tigers

PREGAME: As college football descends upon us, Kenny Rogers will take on Brandon Duckworth. These two met last weekend, and it kicked off a 4 game losing streak for the Tigers. Rogers didn’t pitch well, the Tigers didn’t field well, and the Tigers couldn’t convert the 11 baserunners they mustered off of Duckworth into more than 3 runs.

  1. I gotta say, Edgar is looking really good.

His defense looks fluid and he’s not moving like the old man I was watching at the beginning of the season.

    Leggo my Edgo!

CAN GRANDY GET TO 20 TRIPLES IN A MONTH?

8 to go, another 70 or so ABs?

  2. We’re at the game again. Just felt the need to let everyone know that Curtis Granderson has inexplicably changed his at_bat music to “I wanna sexx u up” by Color Me Badd. Huh?

  3. Weird. I wonder if all of our runs today will be scored this way.

    Step 1: Lead-off triple.
Step 2: Some kind of groundout.

I mean, three times in one game is a looooot.

  4. Heard during the Phillies game on ESPN that they are interested in Kyle Farnsworth. Anyone hear any rumors about what might be coming back our way?

  5. Debacle, yeah. It’s a real drag, too. Last night’s win had me primed for something good. I wanted to say some nice things about it, but it seems so long ago now.

Tonight: Rogers owned by the Royals. Again. Thames strikes out 3 times. Again. Santiago with an error. Again. Sheffield didn’t play. Again. (I had to work him in there somehow.) Robertson blows up. Again. Fossum sucks. Again.

Still, 3 triples, and each time the run scored. That is huge. All things considered.

The Tigers would have to be this bad a good deal more often to make college football (not to mention the Lions, speaking of college football) even marginally interesting. But they’re working on it.

Let’s have Garcia and Willis in the rotation RIGHT NOW. Lambert, too. Let Justin rest, let Kenny help Chuck (let Kenny replace Chuck, why not). Don’t think twice, babe, it’s all right.

  6. That was horrible. I went with a group. I think I have like five September games in my package. I don’t even want to go anymore. Except the fries are pretty good. Good night all.

  7. If the Phillies want Farnsworth badly enough, they should offer the Tigers Jason Donald or Lou Marson. That would be a bad deal for Philadelphia, but it would make the Pudge trade a success for the Tigers. Otherwise, I don’t see anyone (available, feasible) on the major league roster that the Tigers would need.

The Phillies appear to have a good bullpen. Why in the world would they want Farnsworth?

  8. lol who cares, farnsworth clearly doesn’t wanna be on the team, just get any A/AA pitching prospect in return….

oh and Robertson–> DFA…enough is enough…2006 was a fluke he won’t do that again….bite the bullet and eat the contract

kenny’s gone after this year so w/e and so is fossum.

13 runs given up by our lefties…textbook pitching right there
