I like it because Griffey will have to play in the field. He’s no longer much of a defender.

Nick Masset and Danny Richar for Griffey (pending his approval).

I like this. Griff is moderately more prodecutive than the bats he’d replace, while Massett is a solid reliever, so he weakens that area for them (and the rest of the pen isn’t so hot right now).

Unless Trader Kenny swings a deal for another arm, this deal doesn’t change much (meaning the Sox will continue to implode).

I know I pointed this out last night when the Tigers pulled to within 8-6, but for those that tuned in late this is what I wrote at 7:50pm

“Lets see if this club shows any heart tonight when no one expects them to. Whether or not they even make the playoffs – that will tell me if they have what it takes to be Champs.”

The Tigers showed me some heart last night, er this morning when they just kept hanging in there until they were able to win it.

Also, if slopcrotch plays today and does not get the chin music – it’s a baseball sin. If anyone ~~needed~~ deserves it – he does. Bat tossing hooligan.

Wild, freaky, impossible game. I’m so glad the Tigers won. Losing that one would have been way beyond “not funny.”

Mighta smashed the record for game thread posts, too. I was wondering, after that 500+ Friday night heartbreaker against the Sox, whether DTW commentators would have enough faith left in the Tigers to ever approach that number of posts again in 2008. Obviously, the fire still burns.
