I am not saying that I agree with the argument, but I think that the article said that the umpires were fooled by the late movement and it takes about an inning for the ump to get used to his movement. Pitch f/x may be able tell if his pitches are more likely to be out of the strike zone in the first inning or if they are just being called that way. Does pitch fx have pitches by inning?
