The Tigers announced that a limited number of full season ticket packages are now on sale. They also announced, and this really isn’t a surprise, that there will be no single Opening Day seats available when single game tickets go on sale on Saturday morning. So if you want Opening Day at face value, you’ll have to go the full season route.
Of course there are always resellers like StubHub. Right now there are 434 listings with the cheapest seat being a single bleacher ticket for $149.99. To get a pair closer to the field than Ford Field it starts at $165. These prices are up considerably since the $130’s where tickets were listed in January.
Other details for the single game ticket sales include:
Individual tickets for all other games on the 2008 schedule will be available on March 1, while supplies last, and individual purchases on Saturday will be limited to 12 tickets per game.
For fans purchasing tickets at the Comerica Park Box Office on Saturday, wristbands will be distributed by ballpark security personnel beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 29. Customers with wristbands will be given priority when the lines are formed. Customers will not be allowed to stand in line at the Box Office until 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 1. Free parking will be available in Lot 1 at Comerica Park for people purchasing tickets.
Single game tickets will go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Comerica Park Box Office, online at www.tigers.com, over the telephone by calling (866) 66-TIGER (84437), at 32 Detroit-area Meijer stores and at Hockeytown Authentics, 1845 E. Big Beaver Road, in Troy.
The Meijer store option is new, and might be a decent bet.
I think my scam of buying the $5 tickets and hanging out in the Standing Room Only section will finally come to an end this year and I will have to shell out the extra $10 dollars. Luckily games are always much more fun with a full house.
Bilfer do you have a link of this announcement? This seems kinda weird. Last I heard they were cutting off sales of season tickets so that some single games would still be available, including opening day but now they won’t be selling tickets for opening day? How could they all be gone now before single games seats go on sale?

This was in a release the Tigers issued yesterday afternoon. It’s probably on line now. The reason they suspended sales of full season tickets for a while was to make sure that there would be enough postseason tickets available for full season ticket holders.
As for opening day, new 27 and 41 game ticket holders don’t even get Opening Day because there aren’t enough tickets available, so it stands to reason that general public wouldn’t get them as well. Between full season ticket holders, and renewing mini-season there just aren’t physically any more seats.
Okay thanks. That’s what I wondered if renewal people just hadn’t renewed yet and that amount could be what filled the rest of the seats. I already have my seats but for those that don’t, good luck on the market now that this has come out.
Looking at their website, only half and 27 game packages are available. Did this new allotment of full season tickets sell out already?
Can season ticket holders buy single game tickets early this year? I have a 27-game package but haven’t heard anything about it, nor seen any indication online. I was able to last year. Hm…

The last summer I made it to Comerica Park I got to see three horrendous losses by the Tigers (and I only went to 3 games).
I will probably only be able to make it to one game with a group of family so here’s to hoping I’ll finally see a Tigers win at Comerica Park.

JML no they are not helping anyone early this year. I tried. I’m glad I bought my package in 2006 when everyone laughed at me! And I must admit that sometimes I yearn for the bad old days. No expectations = no stress and saving $$.

The keywords here are “FULL SEASON”. There will not be an early release to partial season ticket holders.

The password in my email was my account #. (i.e. 216xxx) Might be worth a try to use your account # if you are a partial and see if you can get logged in. Else, get in touch with someone you know is a FS ticket holder.
