Especially since the Tigers are turning profits for 2 consecutive years and the success of Tigerfest means that they'll likely do it again. Add to that a possible playoff birth and excess funds from that and the payroll should rise. Hoarding profits in sports just makes you a bad owner, in my opinion. Payroll to me, too, is a non-issue. Mr. I will probably keep the payroll up like this as long as we are a good team. For some players it might be WS or bust, but I think in the long haul as long as the Tigers maintain this level of excellence, winning, and playoffs, Mr. I will keep the payroll up and DD will keep on bringing in top of the line prospects and other players(FA and trades).
