My guess would be Casey, unless he wants to ride the pine in Detroit. Since his kids are still pretty young, he might go the free agent route and see if he can get a multi-year deal. He's making 4 million now but I don't know my baseball players well enough to know if there's a team out there who would offer him more than that or a multi year deal.

No clue on the other guys.

I'm about 99% sure you're wrong on Inge. Probably wrong on Robertson. Pudge, I lean towards them bringing him back out of lack of options whether or not it's a good idea.

Jones, I don't know. If they move Rodney/Zoomer to closer, they'll need to buy a setup man or find one in the organization. Not as easily done as said. But I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone. Casey, I agree, is not coming back.

I know it's early but just a quick survey of tiger players who will not be here in 2008 my guess is Brandon Inge,Sean Casey
Ivan Rodregiuz, Todd Jones,Nate Robertson.

Keeping Grandy in the leadoff position is what I believe he's referring to JMD rather than Polly or some other players as has been suggested by some other folks.

Bill, do you even read what you write before you post it? Leyand is manager because we have good hitters in the center of the lineup? Is that what you are saying? Because that's one of the dumbest things I've read in a while. Goodness.

from the DetNews game wrap

The Tigers added an insurance run in the eighth off reliever Andrew Brown, who yielded a single to Perez before the right fielder stole second, and then scored on a Granderson single.

Oakland started to rally in the seventh, loading the bases with two outs as Detroit replaced Verlander with reliever Bobby Seay, who struck out Jack Cust looking.

it just don't get no better, folks :) This is baseball at its best.

a game of characters. and our Tigers have turned into a wonderful band of some of the best characters to play the game

should give CG more opportunities to drive in runs with his propensity to get extra base hits.

Grandy gets extra bases because of his speed. and that is why he's the lead off man. we have good hitters in the center of the line up. and that is why Leyland is the manager

we've lost like 900 man game days to injuries this year and I think Jim has done a very good job in working around those with the players available to him

it's been a rough season. but this is MLB and nobody said it would be easy.

we had a good win ysterday and a good game for JV. let's get out there and clean up this series this afternoon

With Timo Perez coming up early, all of those names added to the roster look like Mays, Koufax, Wagner, and Gibson.

Jim - right, now that I think of it I can't remember the last time he pitched. Which means we haven't had games to save . . . .

You boys. Always with the potty humor . . . have a great evening.
