  1. Does anyone know if Rogers is starting in Cleveland on Wednesday night? I’ve seen TBA listed as the Detroit starter for Wednesday night in CLE since Saturday. I’m assuming since Tata got sent down that Kenny is ready to return. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. The return is rumored to be someone from AAA Sacramento. I wonder if Colby Lewis is returning to the Tigers’ system. He’s pitched quite well for Sacramento this year.

I can’t imagine the Tigs will get anyone with a high ceiling for Hannahan. Lewis fits on that front, too.

  3. Thanks Nate. Who do you think it will be? Virgil Vasquez? I can’t imagine who else it would be unless they decide to give Tankersley (sp?) a shot. My other guess would be Zach Miner.

  4. Could be one of the AA guys: Jurrjens or Trahern. Vasquez is a good bet, though, because he pitched Thursday, so he’d only be a little off schedule.

  5. Hey fellow Tiger fans! How’s this for an embarrassing stat? I was surfing Baseball America and since the D-Rays inception as an AL franchise in 1998, guess who are the only two AL franchises to have a losing record against them? That’s right. Its our own Detroit Tigers who are 37-38 all-time vs. the D-Rays in their 10 years as an AL franchise, and the KC Royals who are 38-42 vs. TB. Ouch. To take it a step further, we are the only AL team that TB has an all-time winning percentage versus on the road. The D-Rays are 19-18 all-time vs. the Tigers in Detroit (two years at Tiger Stadium and 8 years at Comerica), 19-19 at Tropicana against the Tigers. Letting TB have a winning percentage over .500 in Detroit over a ten year period is flat out embarrassing. I know they haven’t been the 10 best years of Tiger baseball, but they haven’t been the 10 best years of Royals baseball either and TB isn’t over .500 against them in KC.

The D-Rays have a winning record against a few NL teams in interleague play (7-2 vs. D-Backs, 10-5 vs. Phils, 5-4 vs. SD, and 2-1 vs. the Brewers), but those are against a much smaller sample size. Just something interesting that I found while bored this weekend.

  6. I think someone from the Weblog ought to pitch Wednesday!!

(Sorry, this season is making me crazy)

  7. In order for Trahern or Jurrjens to start on Wednesday, they would have to be added to the 40-man roster, I believe. My guess is Vasquez, but I have no idea when any of those guys pitched last and I’m too lazy to look it up.

  8. According to Danny Knobler’s blog Jair Jurrjens will get the start in Cleveland on Wednesday. Not a big deal to put him on the 40 man roster. Maybe this means Kyle Sleeth finally comes off the 40 man roster.
