Rogers is a Tiger or retired in 2008. MIght not be a bad gamble at a reasonable price and with the understanding he’s not a lock for the rotation. A one year deal could be worthwhile.

I’m pretty mixed on bringing Kenny back. There’s no guarantee he can be a league average pitcher after essentially an entire year off. Give KR 2.5m base salary with tons of incentives based on starts made. David Wells has had these before. If he makes 12 starts he makes another 1.25 and every 5 starts after that he makes another 1.25. If he makes 32 starts, he makes 8.75m, more than this year.

I think the base salary would be more around the $3.5-4 million range for him to sign.
But I agree with you in principle. No reason to sign him unless half of the deal is incentive based.
