Tigers Minor League Wrap – 7/13/07

Yorman Bazardo was rocked for 7 runs on 7 hits in just 3 innings. Eulogio De La Cruz pitched 2 scoreless innings. Brent Clevlen went 3 for 4 and is now 9 for 16 since returning to Toledo

Jackson Melian was 3 for 4 with a homer and 5 RBI. Clete Thomas had 3 hits as well and Jeff Larish walked 3 times. Matt Righter allowed 5 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 2/3 innings. Five relievers pitched shut out ball the rest of the way.

Daytona 4 Lakeland 0
Justin Justice 2 was 2 for 2 with a walk. Lucas French went 6 innings and allowed just 1 run on 3 hits in 6 innings.

Beloit 5 West Michigan 3 12 innings
Scott Sizemore was 3 for 6 with a triple and 2 RBI. Gorkys Hernandez singled, tripled, and walked. Duane Below fanned 7 in 6 innings and allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and a walk.

Oneonta 2 State College 3
Chris Carlson homered, doubled, and walked. Justin Henry had 2 hits and Casper Wells walked twice. Sendy Vasquez allowed 3 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits and 5 walks in 4 2/3 innings.

GCL Tigers 5 GCL Phillies 3
Christopher White, Carlos Ramirez, and Joseph Bowen all had 2 hits. Jay Sborz allowed 1 unearned run on 5 hits and no walks in 3 innings.

Minors News

Mike Rojas has been managing the Mud Hens while Larry Parish recovered from ankle surgery. Well, the team announced that Rojas will manage the rest of the year. Parish is slated to return next year.

  1. Clevlen is actually 9/18 since returning to the Hens as he went 0-2 in his first game back on July 6th. Still nice to see him regain some form after a putrid April and May.
