Miller, in my estimation, is the best play-by-play man who gets a significant amount of national air-time. He can make just about anything seem exciting; it’s his partner in the booth who drags the broadcast down for me.

I would even go so far to say that I think Miller / Morgan is one of the best broadcast teams, because Morgan isn’t quite as bad as Miller is good. I guess it’s a little like saying that an infield that consisted of Pujols, Utley, A-Rod, and Neifi Perez is a pretty good infield. Morgan is not so terrible that he can completely undo the good that Miller does in the booth.

A few years ago I even had a discussion with my brother about how much I liked him, and how listening to his games were fun.

Maybe it is because I don’t watch every single game that he calls? I probably only watch him a few times a year. Maybe he grows old on you fairly quickly. But, so far, that hasn’t been the case for me.

Presumably, Morgan thinks that, if Dice-K were traded to the Royals, the KC hitters would suddenly start scoring a lot more runs in the middle innnings.

They’re just terrible. I would rather hear Rick Sutcliffe and Dusty Baker, and I keep praying some team hires them for coaching positions so I never hear them talk. Shows how much i hate Morgan and Miller.

I used to like him, particularly when paired with Jon Miller, but he has a very limited vocabulary and is often woefully uninformed regarding the teams he’s covering (unless its NYY, BOS, LAD or SFG) as last year’s playoff performance, covering “Jason” Verlander, would evidence.
