I like the idea of trading one of the excess starters, and getting something to help the team down the stretch this season. I just don't know how much I like it. Rogers isn't getting any younger, and it seems like trading one of their starters could turn out badly next season. After Bonderman and Verlander, what is the starting rotation going to look like if Roger's retires next season, and they traded away one of their quality starters? Also, Todd Jones' quotes after Monday's game were not endearing at all. He needs a reality check. "My job is to get outs and I got them." Please....the tying run was on third base after Jones came into the ninth with a four-run lead. That was pitiful, and the comments were almost worse. What’s the word on Rogers after this season? In the next couple weeks, three of these guys have to go, one way or another. As bad as the bullpen has been, are there three guys here you want to give up on for good? And the guys with options (Miller, De La Cruz, Miner?, Byrdak?) are arguably the guys that have been performing the best and/or have the most upside.
