My favorite part of this was going to MLB.com after the seventh and reading the headline: “Justin case you hadn’t noticed, No No in progress.”

No, that’s a lie. I think I screamed my lungs out when Neifi made that play.

I really can’t dislike the guy anymore. He’s a Tiger.

Same story here, Anne. Happened to go to tonight’s game–only the second game I’ve been to at Comerica this year. After the top of the 5th, I turned to my wife and said, “Verlander’s half way to a no hitter.”

I told my six-year old son after the game, “You’ll be telling your grandchildren about this when you’re 70.” Not sure he processed that one.

And this while wearing a Justin Verlander name/number t-shirt my sons gave me as an early Father’s Day gift.

What a night.

First no-hitter at Comerica and I was there!!! After the top of the fifth I told my husband and son “look at Milwaukee’s line score”. My husband was thinking the same thing, but I had to point out to my son that they had no hits. The tension and excitement just kept building from there, every strike–not just strike out, but every single strike–had the crowd yelling and cheering. The ninth inning I didn’t see one person in his seat-everyone was on their feet screaming for the last out. That last out, by the way, almost made me wet my pants. From our seats in the RF grandstand it looked like it was coming right at us, with enough distance. I couldn’t see Maggs get into position to make the catch and only knew it was an out when the crowd went crazy.

And speaking of Maggs, wow that sliding catch in the 7th saved the no-hitter for Verlander. Plenty of chants of “MVP after that.

And Neifi “Secret Weapon” Perez. Wow, who knew?
