Well, how about that. Riske took a risk and threw a buntable strike to Pudge. And Pudge took him yard. Blown saves are nothing new for KC either. Play nine innings.

I am lucky enough to have been at the game today, being a displaced Tigers fan in KC. I just finished watching Sports Center after a long day of celebrating, and this one escapes my memory now. Which Royal deflected that Bonderman pitch up into his face?

Thanks for linking to the box score, Billfer. If it's not too much of a pain, that would be a nice thing to have for all the game threads.

Gary will be fine. Just having a tough time to start the season out. He is going to a great HR park against a team he loves to face in his career. .321/.397/.568 in 243 at bats.

Yup it was in August last year, one of the best games I went to in '06. Pudge is going to have a big year IMO.

Moving Durbin also sets up for Roger's return. Verlander (hard RHP) - Moroth (soft LHP) - Bonderman (hard RHP) - Rogers (soft LHP) - Robertson (hard LHP). If Bonderman and Durbin hadn't flip-flopped, Rogers and Moroth would pitch back to back.

And we all know that the skipper doesn't like that.

Duckworth pitched well today. Meaning, he'll be rocked in his next start for KC.

And when I saw that Rodriguez home run, I had flashbacks of the one he hit off of Fausto Carmona to beat the Indians in late July/early August I think it was, last year.

Interesting to note that Jonesy has saved all 3 Tiger victories so far.

And Bonderman--8 K's, only 1 walk (intentional) and 2 ER's, he did pitch like an ace today.

It's not that I like DeJesus much (aside from the "Are you saying DeJesus can't hit a curveball?" jokes that we could make), but no one else in that lineup hits us at all, while he's hitting .370 against us over the last 3 years. Send them Rodney and Neifi for him.
