Two years ago they signed Urbina and dealt him at the deadline for Polanco. Dealing Mesa at the deadline for some young pitcher (or catcher) means you're only out about $1.5 Million. If Jones or Zummy get hurt, we keep him. And Zummy did have arm trouble in September. Mesa's past legal problems could be a problem for some teams but I think Leyland can handle it.
