Danny Knobler reports that Justin Verlander’s Sunday start will be skipped. Most importantly he indicates that he is fine, and it is just part of Leyland’s plan to limit his workload. Wil Ledezma will get the start.

1270 said his arm was tired after his last start, so I don’t think this was really planned, it’s just part and parcel of their cautious approach.

This is definately a good time to do it before we get into the bruisers for this month, although the ESPN.com headling makes it seem alot more serious and not a planned thing.

Maybe Rogers should sit down a game too. Something that might be verry possible in another week or so with Maroth expected to pitch in Toledo on Wed.

My undertanding is that this wasn’t part of a long term master plan, but that these are the types of precautions Leyland was planning on. I think that ideally, Leyland would have waited until Maroth was back. The good news is that it is fatigue and not pain.

I have a ticket to Sunday’s game. Very dissapointing to miss the C.C. vs JV matchup. Boo.
