		<description>Several years ago, the Tigers acquired Dickie Noles for a player to be named later and, after the season ended, Noles became the player to be named later.  They were criticized for it.  To avoid that criticism, that might explain why the McDonald transactions were structured in this way, with yesterday&#039;s transaction separated from the original trade.</description>

		<description>Getting McDonald was a good move.  He had a knack for timely hits.  But he probably was a surplus player.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Does anyone think this is a precursor to another move?  Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?</description>
