This comes one week after the two teams completed their July trade by agreeing to cash considerations. Essentially, the Tigers rented McDonald for 3 months. The trade frees up an additional spot on the 40 man roster, and may indicate the clubs interest in acquiring another infielder this offseason. [...]

I'm looking forward to your DIPS analysis. I was going to do that but I went with ERA+ and ERC instead. I also want to see your view of the 25 man roster. I'll be on vacation (no computers allowed) starting tomorrow. I'll be back late Friday night.

Does Lovullo still qualify as a prospect? I AM still waiting on him to deliver on what Sparky claimed he was capable of, so i suppose the title is apt.

I agree that Pudge got unfairly shut out here. Much as I love Jason Varitek, he simply was not the best defensive catcher out there this season.

But of course Jeter won again, so the validity of the Gold Gloves remains, as ever, in doubt.

Hi, just wanted to say that Dan Szymborski's 2006 ZIPs projections for the Tigers are up at BTF. Some encouraging signs, some less so. CG and Shelton look good.
