All we know for certain is that Pudge is a 33-year old catcher, which is kind of like a 33-year old running back.

I saw someone gripe recently about the Tigs record in one-run games, stating point blank that it shows “they dont know how to win the close ones” and thus stands as the reason they are below .500.

I then looked at the 2003 club at baseball-reference.com and found the 43-119 Tigers were 19-18 in one-run games that season. So, for all their faults, I guess the one thing that team knew how to do was win the close ones.
