Hey Dombrowski bad move getting rid of Craig Monroe. He's going to take you to the fence. Should have had a little more patience. It certainly showed last season.

Please Ask Dave Dombrowski to trade for some relief pitchers-- and the faster the better!

I like to ask you what you think od Mr. Dave Dombrowski. I am Florida resident and proud marlins fan and I was very disappointed when the former GM left us and signed with the Tigers organization. He basically made a championship for us, and now the Tigers are in 1st place and look to win 2006 and make the Tigers champions. The GM is the best and I wish he didnt leave Florida. How would you rate him compared to other GMs based on playoff winning percentages and World Series appearences. It would be greatly appreciated coming from a Miami-Dade Police Officer. I would like to thank you for your comment. I would like to give a few shout outs to some VIP. Support the Teal Fish Inc., Miami-Dade Police Department for fighting crime and drugs ever single day. The Florida Marlins Baseball Club for all the and winning ballgames and especially the World Series back in 1997 and 2003. Stop Drug Users and Sales by D.A.R.E Program for Kids. Please support fun the right way. Do it Legally and Say No to drugs!!!!

Excellent, Billfer. I've always liked Dombrowski, and this was a classy move on his part. I just hope ownership excercises patience with Dombrowski et al, because as detailed in your piece, the resurrection of the franchise is still years away.

Just curious - was this a phone or email interview? Or did you get to meet him face-to-face? Did he say if he ever reads any fan sites such as DTW?

It was a phone interview. I wanted to post it as a Q & A, but I wasn't able to get 100% of his answers captured. I didn't want to be irresponsible and misquote him so I wrote it up as an article instead. I'm not sure if he reads this site or not. I thought about asking him, but I figured if he had read it, he would have offered that up at some point.

Ooo, congrats on snagging the interview! T'was good to read DD's thoughts on all that, and you did a nice job of encapsulating the offseason thus far.

DD is a pretty cool guy. He is a good PR man yet he has realistic expectations. If the media, fans an Ilitch have enough patience he will turn this thing around. Nice scoop Billfer.

Kudos on the Dombrowski interview. Thanks for the good work on the Website. As a Tigers fan living in NJ, it's great to have a resource and forum such as this. Dombrowski is a good guy and I hope he finds success in Detroit.

After the Weaver trade, I was very upset with the Tigers and cut up one of my Tigers T-shirts and mailed it to Dombrowski with a letter express my dismay. During the offseason last year, I wrote to him, explained who I was, and congratulated him on signing Pudge and giving us something to hope for. I told him that no matter how the move turned out down the road, it was clear he was working to improve the team. He wrote back and thanked me for sticking with the team. A class act.
